| Interface | Buyer input |
|---|---|
| Electrical | Three-phase supply voltage, frequency in Hz and connected load in kW at the proposed pad. A leaflet kW figure is a connected-load hint, not a wiring design. |
| Utilities | Influent feed, treated-water discharge or reuse header, compressed air demand for aeration or valves, and cooling water if the quoted pack lists a heat exchanger. State available flow rate and working pressure at each drop. |
| Controls | PLC interface protocol, sampling-point list and whether occupancy or process bleed changes must load as a documented recipe after a duty cycle change. |
Product changeover questions
A wastewater RFQ is complete only when the buyer names what changes between feed streams and the supplier confirms how membranes, media and sludge lines are prepared before the next duty. This desk compares replies; it does not sign FAT or SAT on the buyer’s behalf.
What changes between products?
Mine-camp sewage and chemically contaminated mine-process water are different products for this RFQ. Camp sewage is typically domestic BOD/COD/SS with occupancy-driven flow variation. Process water may carry acidity, metals or process reagents that a submerged aerated filter or MBR sized for domestic wastewater does not address. See why those streams must be specified separately.
What must be cleaned or replaced?
Ask which membranes, media, strainers and chemical dosing lines must be cleaned or swapped when occupancy drops, when a second camp block comes online, or when a process bleed is added. Spare parts and consumables that cannot reach a remote site on the stated delivery window should be priced as a support line rather than assumed to exist at the pad.
How is the first good output verified?
First treated output is verified against the same laboratory methods used in the influent analysis, over an agreed sampling period at representative flow, not against a leaflet cubic-metre-per-day rating. Record who samples, who interprets BOD/COD/SS and turbidity, and what happens if a shock load arrives during start-up. Modular skids still need that operating plan.
Site interfaces that change a wastewater treatment quotation
Which items belong in the wastewater treatment equipment quote?
Which procurement scope is covered by wastewater treatment equipment?
Base machine
- Named treatment train for a single influent family: tanks, aeration or membrane modules, pumps, PLC and the standard instrumentation listed on the datasheet.
- Standard tooling in this context means factory-supplied membranes, media and dosing skids that the quotation names, not a generic plant that can treat every mining chemistry.
Is the feed mine-camp sewage or chemically contaminated mine-process water?
State the source of each stream, whether streams will be mixed, and the representative laboratory analysis. A domestic MBR reference for camp sewage cannot be ranked against a metals-removal train unless both offers use the same influent and effluent basis. Responsibilities for process design, discharge consent and sampling remain with the buyer and the contracted supplier as written in the purchase documents, not with this independent sourcing partner.
